It's one thing for a region to target specific strategic industries. It's another to know exactly how a region stacks up against its major competitors and what it needs to do to maintain/increase/achieve competitive advantage. This research helped the Salt Lake Region build a foundation for its efforts to compete and win projects that will create prosperity for future generations of Utahns.
This research used a simulated site selection analysis conducted by Global Location Strategies (GLS), a leading global site selector, to evaluate the Salt Lake Region compared to its major peers for projects in (1) Advanced Materials & Aerospace Parts Manufacturing, (2) Medical Device Manufacturing, (3) Therapeutics & Diagnostics R&D, (4) Financial Services, and (5) Software Services. The team combined that robust analysis with extensive focus groups amongst regional stakeholders. In turn, this resulted in clear, specific deliverables for how the Salt Lake Region can improve its competitive positioning.
